Bellafill and Volux are both dermal fillers commonly used for facial enhancement, but they have some differences in their composition and applications.

Composition

Bellafill: Bellafill is a dermal filler composed of a combination of collagen gel and polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) microspheres. The collagen gel provides immediate volume upon injection, while the PMMA microspheres create a scaffold for long-term support by stimulating collagen production in the skin.

Volux: Volux is a dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a naturally occurring substance in the body. HA fillers like Volux provide immediate volume and also stimulate collagen production over time, but they do not contain PMMA microspheres like Bellafill.

Durability

Bellafill: Due to the presence of PMMA microspheres, Bellafill is considered a semi-permanent filler. The PMMA microspheres provide long-lasting support by stimulating collagen production, and results can last up to 5 years or more.

Volux: Volux is a temporary filler, with results typically lasting around 12-18 months. Since it is made of hyaluronic acid, the body gradually absorbs it over time.

Usage

Bellafill: Bellafill is often used for deeper wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds (smile lines), acne scars and over prominent bony regions such as the cheek, chin, jawline and temples.

Volux: Volux is specifically designed for contouring and enhancing the chin and jawline. It provides strong support and definition to these areas, making it a popular choice for facial sculpting.

Safety and Side Effects

Both Bellafill and Volux are FDA-approved, however, as with any injectable treatment, there can be potential side effects such as bruising, swelling, redness, or injection site reactions. These are usually mild and temporary. Schedule your consultation with our surgeon and expert injector Dr. Fathimani.
